sahar p asked: Do you have to make a bet every round when playing Roulette at a casino in Vegas or can you wait a few spins between placing bets? Also, is there usually a screen that shows the previous spots that the ball has just landed on so I could keep track? Thanks!

you can place a bet at any time.
You don’t have to bet every round. But if there are no bets on the table, they won’t spin the wheel. So if you’re looking to skip rounds, you need to go to a table that’s not empty.
If the table is really full, some people may not appreciate you going in and out, and you might not be allowed to sit if you’re not playing every round.
Most, if not all casinos, have installed things that keep track of the last 20 spins. It’s a tall lighted display, and it tells you the last number and whether that number is red or black or a zero.
Be careful if you plan on relying on this display to make your bets. The reason casinos use them is because it has dramatically increased profits for roulette tables. Just because the last 10 were black doesn’t mean the next one has to be red, and doesn’t improve the odds that the next one will be red either. Each roll is an independent random event, and the odds of it being red or black is the same every time (slightly under 50%, due to the two zero spots).
So if your plan was to sit out until 10 blacks came up and then bet huge on red, you’re falling right into the casino’s trap.
Just remember you’re there to have fun, and don’t spend more than you’re willing to lose. If you find yourself becoming extremely nervous about losing a bet, it’s probably more than you are willing to lose.

You bet whenever you like. If you want to sit out a few spins you can do that.
Yes there is usually an LED board that shows the past few numbers, usually at least the last 10 number or more.
But keeping track is completely pointless. If the ball lands on red five times in a row, it does not mean that red is really likely to come up or that black is ‘due.’
Every spin of the wheel is an independent and random event. The past 10 spins of the wheel tell you NOTHING about the next spin. The wheel does not remember what happened before, it doesn’t know what ’should’ come next.
Every time you play American roulette you are playing against a house edge of 5.26%. It doesn’t matter what system you use, or how you track the numbers that have gone before. The house edge is always the same.
You do not have to play every single spin at the roulette wheel. You can play once and wait 10 more spins if you choose.
Also, most casinos do have a board which tracks the past 20-25 spins. But do not pay attention to that board!! This is important. This board is there to trick you (casinos wouldn’t spend thousands of dollar on it if it didn’t benefit them, would they??).
Each spin at the roulette table is independent from each other. This means, even though 5 spins in a row came up red, it doesn’t mean that black is “due”. It is just as likely that the next spin will be red as it is black. I have seen people lose hundreds on one spin because they believe that “black HAS TO come up next, it just can’t be red again”. The board is misleading and you shouldn’t be fooled by it.
Play roulette with caution. It is a fun game but it is a house game with a 6.5% house advantage. It is fun to play but don’t bet your mortgage payment on it. Good luck!!
