i dont undertand how the betting works. say for example i have $10 and i place it on black. the dealer spins and the the ball lands on a black space. how much would i win? and say i place $10 on red 12 and the ball landed there how much would i then win? like can someone explain to me the payouts for each number or color? and is there a limit on what you can bet at a casino on roulette? roulette seems so easy cant you just get like $50,000 and place it on red if the ball lands on red then you get a big payout right and theres a 50% chance it will cause theres only two colors?

Casinos arent stupid. You are forgetting the 2 green spots on the wheel. Its not a 50% chance. You get paid even money on the black and red spots. There are 2 green spots if it lands on those, you get nothing.

Casions can wait and dont care if you win 10 times in a row, somebody else will lose. Its about odds. The odds are on their side.

You get paid 35 to 1 on a single square. But remember the 2 green spots. There are 37. Odds are in their favor over the long term, if you dont believe me look at the buildings they can build.

color bets pay even odds so a $10 bet would get you $10. If you bet on red 12 and it hits you would win $350. 35-1 odds. there are also green numbers on most roulette wheels, they are zero and double zero. there are many ways to bet on this game.

When you speak of betting on Red you are placing what the casino calls an “outside bet”. This is a bet that has either 12 or 18 winning numbers. Any of the bets with 12 winning numbers (1st 12, 2nd 12, 3rd 12 or the columns) will pay 2 to 1. A bet with 18 winning numbers (1-18, 19-36, red, black, odd or even) will pay 1 to 1, or even money.
When you are betting on the specific numbers it is referred to as an “inside bet”. Here is a list of those payoffs:

Cover 1 number with a chip (Straight Up) – Payoff is 35 to 1
Cover 2 numbers with a chip (Split) – Payoff is 17 to 1
Cover 3 numbers with a chip (Street) – Payoff is 11 to 1
Cover 4 numbers with a chip (Corner) – Payoff is 8 to 1
Cover 5 numbers with a chip (00, 0, 1, 2, & 3) – Payoff is 6 to 1
Cover 6 numbers with a chip (Double Street)- Payoff is 5 to 1

Since a standard American Roulette Wheel has 38 numbers (1 – 36 plus 0 and 00) the casino retains a 5.26% advantage over the players. That is to say that if you played the number 12 every spin the casino would win 5.26% in the long run. When your number hits you will be paid $350, but you would have lost $370 in the process.

For your “Outside Bets” the same 5.26% applies, since there are more losing numbers than winning numbers. On a bet for Red you will win 18 times and lose 20 times. For the “Dozens” you will win 12 times and lose 26 times. The math is all the same. Every bet you make will have the exact same house advantage, except for the 5 number bet. This is slightly higher due to rounding off).

If you can find a “Single Zero” roulette wheel than play that. The casino advantage is half of what was mentioned because the payoffs are the same yet there are only 37 numbers on the wheel.

As for your thoughts on the 50% chance, the correct number is 47.4%.

Good Luck also helps too!
