but if you want a low variance way of betting, colors are good. or if you want something different, you can bet on even/odd or 1-18/19-36, they all pay 1:1 and hit about 47.5% of the time
or if you dont mind losing it quick for a chance of big scores, just bet some numbers, they are 35:1 and hit about 2.5% of the time
this is assuming a double 0 wheel (with 0 and 00) if your wheel has just the 0 (like in places in europe), you will have slightly better odds to hit, but you still wont win (as in leave with more money then you came with) often

The way that was not mentioned and is the way I play is the box bet. If you watch the results coming in, there will be a trend (assuming a slight imbalance of the wheel). The house is quick to adjust these, but you will see a trend to certain parts of the wheel. I generally bet 4 boxes of 4. That is 16 numbers to hit. The odds are 16/37 where you are playing. When this hits, it pays off 8 to one. On the payoff this makes the result 32/37, or slightly better than the house average odds of 5 to 6. (House wins 6, you 5).

Given the chance, play the European wheel. It has 37 slots with a single 0; the American wheel has an extra slot, a 00 making for 38 slots. The house advantage is 2.7% for the European wheel and 5.26% for the American wheel. Go for bets whose odds are near to their payouts. Even money bets mean betting on Even, Odd, Low, (numbers 1 through 18), High, (numbers 19 through 36), Red, or Black. These bets pay out odds of 1: 1. Odds of winning are about 45% going this route.
With the European single-zero wheels there’s a rule known as ‘en prison.’ When you make an even money bet and the ball lands on zero, you don’t lose your bet. Instead, your bet remains static and it’s carried over to the next spin. If your bet wins, you can then remove it from the table. The house edge here is cut in half and is just 1.35%.
These are guidlines for winning. There is no such thing as a system. You can spend hundreds of dollars for a “winning roulette system” but all you’ll be doing is filling a BSer’s pockerts.

What ever you bet on the house edge is 2.7% on a single zero wheel and 5.6 % on a double zero wheel. It’s a % that you can’t change no matter what you do. Go and play Punto Banko It’s low skill and a low house edge.

1. Make sure you’re playing single zero (European) roulette
2. Place your bets on the close-to-evens bets (Black/Red or 1-18/19-36 or Even/Odd) Switch as you feel the need.
3. Use an Evens Chance system
No system is guaranteed to win, but most gamblers lose by failing to follow a proper money management strategy.
If you’re lucky enough to be up on the night at any point, take your winnings and put them into a separate pile and DON’T TOUCH THEM - even if you’re losing later on!
Have a win target and loss limit and stick to them.
