Gray asked: A friend tells me if you double your stake every time you lose betting only on red or black you win a pound every time.
Example; £1 bet on red. If its right your return is £2. If its wrong bet £2 next time. You will now have staked £3 in total to win £4 if red. If black bet £4 next time. Your total outlay is now £7 to win £8 if red. Even if you have to double your bet 10 times which is unlikely with 50/50 odds you still win £1.
Example £1 + £2 + £4 + £8 + £16 + £32 + £64 + £128 + £256 + £512 = £1023 staked to win £1024. You could sit online all day making £1 every few seconds. How do they stop you doing this.

if its like the real casino then there is an upper limit on the amount you can can place on red black…………..
they don’t. they wait for the freak run of bad luck that will naturally come when you are sitting there doing 60-100 spins an hour. Within a month you will hit 14 misses in a row and be broke.
The table limit is the other problem to the martingale system
Eventually you will never reach your goal (what you want to be even) because you will reach your bank limit.
They don’t stop you from doing this. They don’t stand to lose anything on that system, because all you have the potential for winning is $1. And most people who try that system give up before they win much anyway, because it is a tedious process with very little payoff.
they dont stop you but you dont have a winning strategy
NOBODY YET AS DEVISED A SYSTEM THAT WILL BEAT THE HOUSE, AND NEVER WILL THE HOUSE ALWAYS WIN IN THE END NO MATTER WHAT SYSTEM IS USED.
and the casinos are not worried about you winning a£1 every few seconds because someone else will lose £2 every few seconds so they make a £1 every few seconds.
even on a no limit table the house will always win and you will eventually run out of money to win your £1
forget the system it does not work
have you ever seen a casino in county court
I have done this and you will go broke doing it because I have seen over 20 spins the same colour many times. My advice is dont do it, but you will because it is human nature to give it a whirl just the once to see what happens. Either way good luck.
They stop it by limiting the amount you can bet. This is known as the House Limit.
In your example, let’s say the next bet loses. You then need to bet MORE than £2000 just to make your £1. If the house limit is £2000, you can’t make that bet and you’ve then lost your £1023.
The ’system’ you describe above is the Martingale and is notorious at seeming infallible to novice gamblers. Basically, you can have many small wins, but you’ll often be asked to stake massive amounts to win them and sooner or later you’ll hit that big winning streak and be wiped out.
It’s not infallible - it’s nowhere near!
Remember, the house edge is always on the casino’s side.
They don’t need to stop you, they will let you play that ridiculous system all day. You end up risking larger and larger sums of money just to win back $1. Unless you have a bankroll of $1,000,000, eventually, you will hit a bad streak and go broke. Hell, you said yourself, after just 10 losing bets, you are risking $1,024 just to win back $1. Pretty dumb bet. And as many others have said already, most places limit bets, so you wouldn’t even get up to $1,024 most likely.
You’d lose 5 kilos in sweat when you’d have to stake £512 on the 10th spin, not to mention the £511 you would have already lost on the previous 9 spins. You cannot win in the long run on a random game no matter what staking system you employ and as for the naivety of doubling up after a loser I have known about that folly from my cradle.
We limit the amount of times that you can double your bet by fixing maximum allowed amounts to the betting areas. If a table has a minimum bet on the even chances of one pound then the max bet is going to be two hundred, this allows you to double your bet 8 times before you reach an amount that is not double-able. However following your own example if you had just wagered one thousand and twenty three pounds and lost would you bet two thousand and forty six to win a pound.
The game is random so your theory will eventually leave you with nothing… sure you will win some back but in the long run you will lose especially by doubling your money !
very very easily its called the zero “0″ thatis what gives the house the edge. hit that and its not black itS not red and you lose big time - sepecially if you are on £1024
Infact some on line casinos also have double zero “00″ to help you lose faster
